2025 dreams fulfilled scholarship GALA

Join us on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Embassy Suites Downtown Savannah for the Savannah Juneteenth “Dreams Fulfilled” Scholarship Gala—an elegant black-tie evening dedicated to celebration, empowerment, and community impact. The evening begins with an exclusive VIP Cocktail Hour at 6:30 PM, followed by general admission and the main gala at 7:30 PM. Guests will enjoy a night of honoring impactful community leaders, live entertainment, a gourmet dinner, dancing, and a silent auction. 


As the signature fundraiser for our scholarship program, this event supports the educational advancement of rising young leaders and celebrates the spirit of Juneteenth through excellence and opportunity. Honorees

Dr. Quentina M. Miller-Fields

Dr. Quentina M. Miller-Fields

 

We honor Dr. Quentina M. Miller-Fields, Director of Student Affairs for Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools, for her unwavering dedication to education and community leadership. A proud Savannah native, Dr. Miller-Fields has positively impacted over 36,000 students through her vision, compassion, and tireless service.


From launching the Male Readiness Camp to leading the Promoting Peace Violence Prevention Conference and the annual Character Counts Conference, her work uplifts youth and empowers families. Dr. Miller-Fields truly embodies the spirit of Juneteenth—resilience, progress, and a deep commitment to paving the way for generations to come.

KIimberly Hebron

Dr. Quentina M. Miller-Fields

 Barbara Kim Hebron, a Vicksburg, Mississippi native, was one of the first African American students to integrate South Vicksburg High. She went on to attend Alcorn University, where she majored in special education and performed as a Golden Girl with the "Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite" marching band. 


After marrying the late Pastor Freddie L. Hebron, the couple moved to Savannah, Georgia, where they pastored Christian Revival and Restoration Center for over 20 years—building a ministry known for compassion, outreach, and community support.


A devoted servant and missionary, Kim has touched lives locally and abroad through food programs, clothing drives, and mission trips to Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Her unwavering faith and dedication to uplifting others reflect the spirit of Juneteenth—a celebration of freedom, resilience, and community. Today, her legacy lives on through her four daughters, who continue the work of service and love rooted in faith and justice.

Darrell Naylor-Johnson

 

Darrel Naylor-Johnson holds a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and an MFA from Pennsylvania State University. Since 1992, he has made significant contributions to the SCAD community through various leadership roles, including Professor of Foundation Studies, Dean of the School of Fine Arts, and Vice President for SCAD Savannah.


An active member of the Savannah community, Naylor-Johnson has served on boards such as the West Broad Street YMCA, Beach Institute African American Cultural Center, and the Georgia Department of Children and Youth Services. He currently serves on the Board of Visit Savannah, the Mayor’s REAL Taskforce, and the Hilton Head Island and Bluffton Chamber of Commerce. 


His dedication to community leadership reflects the values of Juneteenth—empowerment, resilience, and progress.

James Moore

James, a graduate of A.E. Beach High School and former I.L.A. Local 1414 member, has spent over 20 years serving his community. He’s the founder of MOORE BOOKS LLC, co-owner of L&T Management, and a Trustee at First Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. He also serves on the board of Journeys Hope and the Savannah Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival committee. Through service and business, James uplifts Savannah with a heart for growth and opportunity.

 Camille, a proud Savannah native, is the vibrant lifestyle host on Morning Break on WTOC-TV, but her impact extends far beyond the screen. As a wife, a mother, and a dedicated community leader, Camille has touched countless lives through her work and her unwavering commitment to her family, her career, and her city.

Taffanye Young

 Chief Taffanye Young, a powerhouse of public service,  has spent over 30 years transforming Savannah through her unwavering dedication to community growth and empowerment. 


From her start as a Neighborhood Services Coordinator in 1993 to her current role as Chief Community Services Officer for the City of Savannah, Ms. Young has led efforts in housing, recreation, neighborhood development, and youth gun violence prevention—impacting thousands of lives every year. Her leadership is a testament to the true spirit of Juneteenth: resilience, progress, and a legacy of advocacy that continues to uplift future generations.
