Jerome L. Duncan, Jr. ("JJ")
Known to many as "JJ", Jerome L. Duncan, Jr. is a talented 3rd-grade student with a passion for sports, creativity, and serving his community. He is an active member of Faith Perfecting Life Center, participates in Camp Crusaders, and stays busy year-round competing in basketball, flag football, and Soccer Shots.
JJ dreams of attending LSU, where he hopes to play both basketball and football before pursuing a career in professional sports. Beyond the field, he has aspirations of working in sports entertainment and sports medicine, combining his love of athletics with a desire to inspire and help others.
Chosen For The Arts Programming
As part of the youth arts programming offered by Chosen For The Arts, the host nonprofit organization of the Savannah Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival, JJ's winning artwork will become the official 2026 SJFAF T-shirt design. He will receive a $250 scholarship, a professional photo shoot, and recognition across festival media platforms.
Thanks to the partnership and support of Chatham Area Transit (CAT), JJ's artwork will also be showcased throughout the community at select transit locations and on transit vehicles, allowing thousands of residents and visitors to experience his creativity while celebrating the spirit of Juneteenth.
His creativity and bright future are on full display as the winner of the 2026 Savannah Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival Tee Shirt Design Contest, and we are excited to celebrate all that lies ahead for this remarkable young leader.
